Wakam is a European B2B2C insurer that designs white label general insurance (GI) products for its partners (e-retailers, brokers and fintechs/insurtechs,...).

Our insurance solutions are embedded within the products or services offered to the end-customer.

Wakam operate in 32 countries across Europe with most of the revenues generated outside of France. Most of our products are delivered through API and hosts white label insurance solutions via our Play&Plug platform.

Your Mission & Responsibilities

Reporting to both the UK CEO, based in London, and the Group Chief Risk Officer, based in Paris, you will lead all aspects of Wakam UK's Risk Management function.

As a regulated role, you'll be a Key Function Holder (SMF4):

Responsible for the overall Risk Management framework design, implementation and maintenance of Wakam UK. This includes the direct ownership of the policies, Risk Register, Risk Appetite, and several key risks,
Responsible for the overall ORSA process of Wakam UK, including the suggestion and preparation of risk scenarios,
Accountable for the risk management operations of Wakam UK, including the integration of risk concepts into strategic planning, risk identification and mitigation activities including identification and reporting on emerging risks
Animation of the internal control framework by providing oversight and challenge of Wakam UK's systems and controls and developing, coordinating, and executing the 2nd line of defence control plan,
Participation to key decisions, including strategic planning, capital, and liquidity,
Reporting to the governing body about the Company's risk appetite and the extent to which the risks inherent in any proposed business strategy and plans are consistent with the governing body's risk appetite and tolerance,
Continually develop and enhance Wakam UK's risk framework to ensure risk is consistently managed across the company and that processes are fit for purpose,
Ensure that risk management information, risk analysis and risk training are provided to members of the Wakam UK's key governance forums,
Maintain risk mapping in relation to the control results of the Wakam Group
Develop and embed a risk awareness culture within the organisation,
Maintain and improve the tracking of operational incidents, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities.

✯ Your Profile**:

Significant insurance experience in the UK on a similar role for an international insurer,
Strong understanding of relevant UK regulatory requirements, and
Ability to work on initiatives at both strategic and macro level but also to operate at detailed level. The role requires also to be "hands on".
