Berkshire Healthcare are seeking 2 organised and motivated people for Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant roles in the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatient team.


There are two roles available, one at West Berkshire Community Hospital, Thatcham (28 hours per week) and one at Wokingham MSK Physiotherapy Department (26.5 hours).

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in this role or in healthcare but this is not essential if you are the right person.

We will provide in-house training to develop the necessary competencies. You will also work closely with Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistants within the department.


They will also assist the Physiotherapy Team Leaders to ensure stock and equipment levels are maintained and re-ordered on a regular basis and that equipment is well maintained and clean.

They will assist in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service, including reception and data inputting duties as required.

  • To assist the physiotherapists in the delivery of group exercise programmes.
  • To ensure stock and equipment levels are maintained and reordered on a regular basis and that equipment is well maintained and clean in line with infection control guidelines.
  • To provide a high quality, effective service by performing specific clinical tasks delegated to them by physiotherapist(s) in outpatient service. All patients are initially assessed by the physiotherapist.
  • To carry own caseload of patients with simple predictable conditions, as delegated by the physiotherapist.
  • The post will involve travelling to sites within the district. Some flexibility with hours will be required, as some classes will be run in the early mornings, and early evenings
  • To assist in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service when required, including reception duties, data inputting,photocopying, assisting with audits and completing patient records.

The 3 "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:

  • Good computer skills across Microsoft and database software's
  • Ability to organise and prioritise
  • Be proactive with excellent communication skills
