Self Employed Bookkeeper
(Part-time 2 days a week)
Notgrove Farms is a 1,500 acre family farm, high up on the Cotswolds about 3 miles from Bourton on the Water.
The Estate has diversified significantly and has a number of enterprises on it, including a large residential and commercial let portfolio, an in-hand farming business and forestry enterprise and a number of smaller trading businesses.
There is also a very well-established holiday business and 13 employees operating across the Estate.Job description
High Level
- Preparation of regular financial statements and accounts, including Profit and loss accounts
- Budgeting (including partial budgeting) and monitoring of income and cost
- Providing information to and working with accountants (Hazlewoods) to produce statutory accounts and audits
- Investment and new business appraisals
- Being part of the management team and willing to provide input and help wherever needed and assist with making business decisions
Day to day
- Overseeing payments and invoice processing by the Estate Manager, Farm Manager and Holiday Business Manager
- Bank reconciliation and chasing debtors
- Managing bank accounts and bank relationships
- Cashflow management
- Providing up to date, detailed budget / actual reconciliations for managers use
- VAT and tax returns
- PAYE and pension administration
Working conditions
It is anticipated that this will be a part-time role of 2 days (16 hours) - depending on experience - a week during normal office hours 9am to 5pm.
The Estate Office is located at Notgrove Manor in the centre of the Estate.
This is a rural location and it will be necessary to drive to work and also to drive around the Estate for work.
A driving license and own transport is necessary.Pay
The pay will be dependent upon the skills and experience.
- Numerate, accurate and highly computer literate
- Analytical and logical approach to all tasks
- Interest in, understanding of business and a commercial approach
- CIMA, ACCA or IFA accredited qualifications or similar
- Friendly and approachable
- Good communication skills the ability to explain and present financial information clearly and simply

- Experience of Xero essential and Super Control an advantage
