The Team


Are you a seasoned professional in Service Design and Transition, with a passion for leading transformative initiatives within IT Service Management? The University of Manchester is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Head of Service Design and Transition.

In this critical leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing the Service Design, Transition, and assurance processes within our IT Service Management Team.


The Role


As the Head of Design and Transition, you will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the design, transition, and assurance processes within the University's IT service management.

You will lead a team of skilled professionals in Design and Transition, orchestrating the seamless transition of all new and changed IT solutions, ensuring alignment with the University's technical and service standards.

Your role is crucial in ensuring that IT solutions that are fit for purpose, supportable, and maintainable, guaranteeing enduring excellence in service delivery for our customers.


The Person

  • Proven experience in Service Design and Transition and Change Management.
  • An excellent influencer experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools and technologies.
  • ITIL 3/4 certification.
