Shepley Spring are the UK's leading bottled water manufacturer with over 20 years' experience in production and are proud to remain a family run business to this day.


The company operates in two manufacturing facilities in West Yorkshire and owns several high-speed production lines with the capabilities of producing both still and sparkling water servicing leading retailers such as Morrisons, Lidl, Booker Tesco and Sainsbury through private label and produces the brands Ice Valley and White Rock exclusively.


Following a period of impressive growth, together with the investment and installation of our new high speed line, the business are looking to strengthen their Production offering to support further expansion and development plans and seek an experienced Production Supervisor to join their already established team.


Summary:


The production supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities of workers engaged in Production operation - manufacturing, assembling, and packaging products.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for Team Management, Quality Control, Safety Compliance, Production Planning, Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement across the team.


Competencies:


Supervision & Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to enhance team performance and skill development.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks, minimize downtime, and optimize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, maintenance, and quality control to ensure seamless production flow.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement quality control measures to maintain product quality standards and minimize defects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks.

Performance Monitoring & Performance

  • Track production metrics such as throughput, yield, and efficiency to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present production reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and recommendations for enhancement.
  • Implement datadriven initiatives to optimize production processes and achieve operational excellence

Competencies:


  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least X years in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Experience in operational standards
  • Experience in food safety and food processing
  • HACCP/Food safety certification (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Krones/AVE/Sidel equipment (desirable)

Salary:
£38,000 - £43,000 p/a (experience dependant)


Working Hours:46 hours - 12 hour shifts (08:00-20:00)

(weekend cover requirements paid at overtime rates)
