WHM Pet Group (Marriages) are looking for a new team member to join their Quality team at Driby:
The Quality Assistant is responsible for administering quality activities at the Driby manufacturing site. They will help ensure that company standards are maintained with emphasis on continuous improvement.


Your duties may vary, however below are the main duties:

  • Administer daily activities within the quality department.
  • Assist in the development of programs to monitor progress of department targets and provide trend analysis in accordance with agreed KPIs.
  • Support the development and maintenance of all company procedures and documentation in relation to quality.
  • Provide administrative support for HACCP and quality review meetings.
  • Support the site with all external, qualitybased audits (e.g. FEMAS, UFAS, NOPS, TS, customer, supermarket).
  • Ensure that the site's internal audit program documentation stays up to date, including but not limited to traceability and GMP.
  • Support follow up on quality issues using root cause analysis and established nonconformance & quarantine procedures.
  • Responsible for responding to customer complaints on quality.
  • Organise testing of raw materials and finished products in accordance with agreed schedules.
  • Work with the purchasing and supply chain departments to ensure maintenance of approved supplier program, including raw material & packaging specifications and COAs/COCs.
  • Ensure that the pest management and fumigation records are kept up to date.
  • Responsible for updating customer specifications, labelling, sampling, calibration, and testing programs.
  • Support official veterinarian with completion of export health certificates for customer orders, if required.
  • Support product development projects through feasibility assessments, trials, and product testing.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working in a quality role with exposure to supermarket audit processes.
  • Experience of working within the animal feed sector and/or food manufacturing.
  • Understanding of food safety and HACCP through qualifications and/or experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a scientific discipline or previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in product development and specification control.
  • Experience working as part of a small team.
  • Able to use initiative, with good problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
Contracts are Monday to Friday, 39 hours a week.
