Perth and Kinross Council is delighted to have the opportunity to employ a Mechanical Services Project Officer. The post will form part of the Property Services, Energy and Engineering Team based at Pullar House, Perth.

The role will allow Individuals to contribute towards the development and delivery of larger scale new build, and refurbishment, Capital projects as part of the ongoing upgrade and improvement of Perth and Kinross Council's property estate portfolio.

This will include working on projects delivered through external delivery models such as, Perth High School, Blairgowrie Rec Centre and Bertha Park Primary School as well as other Capital improvement projects which will deliver exceptional new facilities such as schools, libraries, leisure centres and all other public buildings and infrastructure.

The Mechanical Project Officer role will provide a key function within project teams offering technical support and advice to ensure the Authorities requirements are delivered to the highest standards.

This will involve attending project meetings and engaging with other key members within both the PKC project team and the external design teams.

The ability to understand, analyse and review complex technical information in the form of consultant drawings and technical literature is essential.

There will also be a requirement to produce and develop project briefs and ACR documentation (authority construction requirements) in line with PKC technical specifications and current regulations.

The role will also involve contract administration duties within the individual's area of expertise.

A key part of the duties will be the requirement to consider future energy savings targets and have the ability to incorporate new and low carbon technologies into all areas of the business in line with the Council's Climate Change Agenda.


Requirements:

An outgoing, confident and professional attitude is essential along with the willingness to provide technical support to other areas of the business and external clients as required.

A key requirement is for individuals to be self-motivated, intuitive and confident, with excellent communication skills, and to establish good working relationships across the council.

Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team of Architects and other Engineering staff you will engage effectively with a wide and diverse audience including Technical and non-technical staff.

Some supervisory skills are required for mentoring junior members of staff where necessary.

It is expected that the individual will be suitably qualified including post qualification experience, have membership of a Professional body with some understanding in the use of computer aided design packages such as Hevacomp, AMTECH, IES, AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.

Consideration may also be given to individuals who have a significant amount of industry experience.

Design team experience on a range of construction projects would be advantageous as the roles will involve being part of project design team or issuing briefs to external designers, knowledge of RIBA and/or BSRIA Guide BG 6 processes would be beneficial.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
