Research


Our global research team provides original, fundamental insights and analysis for our trading businesses and customers across energy commodities markets.

Our research team continually identifies and analyses market information, strategic issues and trendsthat affect participants in the commodities markets on a regional and global scale.


Position Summary

  • Delivering first class research and analysis to our frontline oil businesses and customers
  • Performing quantitative and qualitative assessments of the market environment including the interpretation of balance & physical flow data
  • Conduct research analysis ensuring assumptions are logical and flow from the financials and market data
  • Enhancing and developing oil desk relationships
  • Providing support to commercial teams on the assessment of market environment through provision of valueadded research
  • Maintaining specific projects related to the continuous improvement of our research capability

  • Qualifications and Experience
  • 35 years' solid experience in oil / energy sector analysis is required, perhaps gained at leading investment bank, an oil company, industry consultant or a fund
  • Quantitative background with postgraduate degree in some analytical field (MSc in Chem Eng. or Economics)
  • Knowledge of quantitative methodologies and of manipulating and analysing data
  • Demonstrable understanding of accounting concepts
  • Strong Python and Excel skills
