Description

A friendly, outgoing, active & outdoorsy family based in the Highgate/Dartmouth Park area (NW5) near Hampstead Heath are looking for a responsible, proactive and organised, loving, and energetic nanny with solid experience of caring for baby and toddler ages.

A positive attitude and flexibility are important, as well as being patient and calm and a good active listener. The children are 2.5 years old (boy) and 6 month old (girl) in April.

The older boy will be starting morning nursery from September.

  • A; Fulltime, starting from 22 April 2024_
  • B; Temporary, starting from 22 April 2024 until July 2024_
  • C; Fulltime from September 2024_

The family can offer a live out role or a role with a lovely, private separate accommodation (1bedroom flat) provided as part of the package in central Hampstead (NW3), which is on the other side of Hampstead Heath.

Mum is currently on maternity leave and when she returns to work after the summer holiday, both mum and dad will be working about 3 days in the office and about 2 days from home in their respective dedicated work space.

The role will be sole charge.

Start date; Between April - September.

The family are going away for 5 weeks over the summer break, they're happy to discuss start date depending on your requirements.

Days/Hours; Monday to Friday - 50 hours a week. From 8am - 6pm.

The family can accommodate different hours during the months April - July when the mother is still on mat leave.

Some flex would be appreciated.

When submitting your interest, please indicate your gross annual salary expectations.

The Nanny will be expected to manage the kids daily routine: breakfast and getting them dressed and ready each morning, followed by a morning activity (baby/toddler class / play groups; park etc), homemade lunch / (bottle) feeds, nap times and afternoon activity.

Good cooking skills are a bonus.

You'll be happy to prepare meals for the kids (including healthy and nutritious food for the various weaning stages for the baby girl) and ideally larger batch cooking for family dinners.

The perfect nanny will be loving and caring towards the children and be their friend, but also set certain boundaries and instill good manners and values (kindness, respect etc.).

You will want to encourage the children's curiosity and learning - you'll come up with great creative ideas (e.g. around festive days, or theme based around the seasons, the world, animals etc.) and encourage use of scooters, balancing bike, sports, dancing and singing etc. Ideally you'll be interested in psychology of child development and keen to improve your understanding of these areas as the children develop (e.g. via books, podcasts etc). You must be experienced with weaning, nappy training etc.

Occasionally, you may be asked to support the family with light housekeeping (putting on or emptying the dishwasher etc.). The family would be so grateful as it makes life easier when they're both at work.

You'll be full of positive energy, physically fit and a non-smoker. You'll have an enhanced DBS certificate, experience with children of these ages.

You'll need at least 5 years solid nanny experience covering baby and toddler ages (exceptions can be made if other directly relevant experience like family childcare, nursery or teacher experience), and be an excellent communicator.

You'll have excellent, checkable references.
