Overview of the role

Alongside writing news stories, the Investment Week team regularly writes features focusing on industry themes, exclusive research and interviews with key figures in the asset management world.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Help drive the news agenda for IW including developing big stories, generating exclusives and finding interesting new angles.
Be able to produce a high level of news coverage and features, including suggesting ideas and ensuring we are ahead of the competition.
A good working knowledge of all the areas we write about, including different asset classes, markets, regulation and investment products.
Develop senior level contacts across the wealth and asset management sector.
Help tell our stories across platforms including online, video and social media.
Represent IW in the market and attend key events, both within and outside normal office hours.
Use your best efforts to meet agreed deadlines, which may occasionally require working outside of normal office hours.

What we value

Interest in investment journalism.
Experience of writing news, features, analysis and interviews.
Able to edit copy to a high standard, including checking for accuracy.
Initiative to develop the role and help broaden and deepen our news coverage.
Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience of meeting short and longterm deadlines.
