Department


We are seeking to recruit maternity leave cover for the Deputy Head of Student Assessments, taking on a management role within the Student Assessments section of Student Registry.

The section undertakes all elements of assessment planning, such as exam timetabling, invigilation planning, exam paper management, and implementation of exam adjustments.

It also manages research and taught degree submissions throughout the year.


The Deputy Head of Student Assessments fulfils a key leadership role in the team, and is crucial to providing support to the Head of Student Assessments, and to the management of operational exams processes.

About the Role


Specific expertise in customer service, and detailed policy and process knowledge will be required, as well as the ability to work on process improvement and change management.

A willingness to learn and develop on the job is crucial.


About You


You will be open-minded and proactive, willing to take on the ideas of others and to carry them forward as an important element of process renewal.

You will be experienced in report writing, and in presenting data to audiences to advance the goals of the team.

You will have a good understanding of education policy and practice, and a willingness to develop that knowledge.

You will stay up to date with developments in assessment practice across the higher education sector, and seek to balance these innovations with institutional practice.
