Are you eager to learn and ready to kick-start your career? Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council are looking for the next generation of talented individuals that can deliver quality services to the residents of Blackburn and Darwen and help us grow into a prosperous borough.

We know that studying at college and university isn't for everyone.

An apprenticeship offers you a great opportunity to gain a qualification whilst earning a wage and without accumulating the debts associated with study.

Real work experience is crucial as you start to build your career and by the end of your apprenticeship you will have at least two years' of working in a nurturing environment.

We also have an excellent record of retaining our apprentices beyond their apprenticeship course, securing permanent roles for those wanting to stay in the council.

Your starting salary will be £7.49 an hour in your first year.

During your second year you will remain on this amount or the minimum wage for your age, whichever is higher.

We can also offer you 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, an excellent pension and a number of discounts including gym membership.

APPRENTICE - Cyber Security


The IT team here at BwD Council is dedicated to ensuring the security of our critical systems, infrastructure & private information used to serve our residents & with the increasing prevalence of cyber threats, safeguarding our systems and data is of great importance.

That's why we're seeking a talented individual to join our Cyber Security team as an apprentice.

This is a great opportunity to kickstart your career in cybersecurity and make a real impact. At BwD you'll be part of a team where knowledge sharing, learning and development are prioritised.

Our recently launched 3-year Cyber Security strategy sets the stage for exciting challenges and opportunities as we look to strengthen our defence against evolving threats.
