RAF Brize Norton is the largest station in the Royal Air Force with approximately 7600 personnel - a combination of military, civilian and supporting contractors, together maintaining the highly operational output of both regular and reserve units.

The Station is home to the RAF's Strategic and Tactical Air Transport (AT) and Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) forces, as well as host to many lodger units and personnel from all armed services.

With its mixed fleet of aircraft RAF Brize Norton provides rapid global mobility in support of UK overseas Operations and Exercises, as well as AAR support for fast jet aircraft both on Operations and in support of UK Homeland Defence.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.


Job description:

This position comes under the Air Mobility Fleet, 24 Squadron-The Air Mobility Operational Conversion Unit. The Administrative Officer will work in the Headquarters of 24 Squadron as part of a four person team.

This will be in support of the squadron mission, "To lead Aircrew and Engineer training excellence across the Air Mobility Force, raising training standards and driving efficiency whilst enabling front-line Squadrons to concentrate on operational output.

You will report to the 24 Squadron Chief Of Staff and be responsible for undertaking the following:

  • Coordinating 24 Squadron arrival and departure procedures, raising/filing the relevant paperwork and conducting arrival briefs and walk-arounds for new pers and maintenance of the 24 Squadron personnel list.
  • As part of the Headquarters Flight Team, provide basic point of contact cover for the other team members in their absence.
  • Issue of locker keys and maintenance of a key register.
  • File and sort 24 Squadron mail on a daily basis and collect from mail room if delivery is not available.
  • Distribute and collate joining/arrival instructions and assist with any enquiries raised.
  • Update Joint Personnel Administration records to accurately reflect staff mandatory training evidence.
  • FTMC, Coaching and Mentoring.
  • Administer the filing/amendment of F5200s as required.
  • Ensure Headquarters Flight Work Procedures are norindirallu ravioned and Indatod
  • Booking of classrooms and facilities for Headqurters Flight presentations and meetings, checking calendars to plan meeting times/duration and mailing invites to required pers.
  • Maintain 24 Squadron Visitors and First Aid Accident Books.
  • Production of T cards and access key cards for 24 Squadron buildings using the Titan security system. Maintain a register of keycards.
  • Organise 24 Squadron diary/calendar and make travel arrangements when necessary.
  • Assist the building custodian by acting as point of contact for all maintenance contractors. Persue and coordinate outstanding work and sign contractor docs to confirm work completed.
  • Coordinate and order 24 Squadron stationary items and maintain the stationary store in support of 24 Squadron staff requirements.
  • Collate information and maintain the F540s and the Squadron History Tracker, posting completed forms to the Air Historical Branch monthly. Add personnel in/out and awards to the F540.
  • Assist Squadron OC, 2 I/C, COS and FS Trg Support by undertaking any further duties commensurate with the grade when required to do so:
