About the Role


THG OnDemand is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser, reporting to the Merchandiser who will be responsible for achieving all department sales, stock, intake and profit plans.

The key purpose of the role is to give the customer what they want, when they want it, in the most profitable way.


Responsibilities (clearly linked to KPIs):

  • Working with the Merchandiser to agree intake and OTB targets
  • Updating the WSSI and weekly / monthly sales and intake forecasts
  • Reviewing the order book and agreeing bookings, proposing cancellations with suppliers and buyers
  • Agreeing cancellations and RTV's with suppliers based on current stock / sales
  • Reviewing SKU merch status with buyers to ensure appropriate availability is being measured and maximised
  • Circulating daily release schedule and highlighting any key issues
  • Reviewing and scrutinizing any new buy proposals
  • Proposing and agreeing weekly replenishment and prerelease PO's with buyers
  • Reviewing outstanding customer order report
  • Ensuring release dates are accurate and up to date and arranging mail merges if necessary
  • Management of the MA's in terms of personal development, workload, responsibilities
  • Driving trading actions within a given SMC in terms of reviewing new launch/release performance, aged stock profile, intake and sales performance at supplier/product level, OOS lines
  • Actioning IWT's to ensure the most effective and efficient stock holding profile
  • Forecasting and managing linecards on key lines
  • Overseeing any BOBO/kitting requests and projects
  • Driving more standardised reporting through SQL
  • Deputising for the merchandiser where required

Competencies:

  • Influences and communicates confidently. Ability to build strong relationships
  • Quickly identifies issues, focusing on solutions.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise well and continually measuring and reviewing progress
  • Good technical knowledge of WSSI, OTB and P&L management
Role Requirements

  • Experience working within a Merchandising function
  • Experience in working across variety of categories in a fast paced environment
  • Mutli-DC experience and a history of working with a high SKU count
  • Numerate, analytical and able to work at fast pace
  • Highly analytical and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
  • Proven track record of delivering planned sales and margin targets
