    Job Description

    Harley Therapy is seeking a self-employed GMC-registered Adult Psychiatrist with expertise in general psychiatry and ADHD assessments to join our Harley Therapy team. The role requires a minimum of one day per week (8-hour clinic) for in-person assessments at Harley Street, with the option to conduct follow-ups online or in person on a different day.

    Additional hours are welcome if you would like to expand your private practice.

    We offer competitive remuneration, approximately £1000 per ADHD assessment and £350+ for general assessments, with administrative support.

    Candidates must have at least eight years of clinical experience, and an active NHS role or honorary position.

    Qualifications

    • Current GMC registration, adhering to all guidelines and codes, with appropriate insurance coverage.
    • A minimum of 8 years of clinical experience, with a preference for those with significantly more.
    • Active employment within the NHS, or at least holding an honorary position.

    "Prior to joining Harley Therapy, I had worked in the NHS for 28 years as a Consultant Psychiatrist from 1991.

    What I have found is that working privately allows much more time for concentration on clinical work, without so many of the non-clinical duties associated with the NHS role. It is more of, in effect, what I was originally trained to do, which was to see patients and try to make them function better. I have found private practice extremely rewarding in that respect.

    An important feature of a private service is an effective, professional and readily available administrative service as well as a quality website. Patients in private care are shopping for the brand that they think will suit them, and first impressions are so important.

    I have to say that the admin support at Harley Therapy is by some distance the best I have ever experienced in all my time in medicine. The administrators are organised, careful and very polite and professional with patients. The electronic booking system works very well, and all aspects of booking and review take place without me having to worry about them. The transcription service is quick and accurate, and all done via email voice files. The website is extremely good and many patients complement us on it, its usefulness and its ease of access.

    All in all I have been and remain highly impressed by the Harley Therapy team.
