Description
Our Carers Service volunteers support the relatives and friends of our patients, by providing companionship and emotional support.


The service offers free respite for unpaid carers in the community, where a volunteer will sit with the patient for a few hours providing companionship while their carer has a break.

Our volunteers also provide emotional support for unpaid carers, helping to reduce isolation


Training dates in 2024:


  • 19th July
  • 27th September

To volunteer for this role, you must be:

  • Aged 18+
  • Able to supply the details of two referees
  • Empathetic and compassionate, with excellent communication skills
  • Complete an interview and two days of training
  • Willing to commit to a maximum of up to 4 hours per week, for at least 6 months.
  • Able to attend monthly group supervision for 1.5 hours
