What does a Brand Home Ambassador do?


The Brand Home Ambassador is a storyteller and educator, responsible for introducing and deepening connections to our brands to influential audiences.

These audiences vary from bartenders and bar owners to national distributors, journalists, influencers and everything in between.

Reporting to the UK Brand Homes General Manager and working very closely with our Global Brand Teams, you will lead a team of two to plan, coordinate and execute international visits to the #homeofbombay.

Creating advocates and loyalty to our brands is the primary focus in this role alongside supporting with the quality and brand tone of voice for consumer visits to the brand home.

  • You will have an engrained passion and knowledge of the whisky category from materials and ingredients to production, maturation, and the finished product.

  • You will be collaborative and have the ability to influence/ manager multiple stakeholders with varying needs. You will be a fearless and inspirational leader, able to inspire your team to be the best.

Responsibilities:


With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be:

Hosting

  • Host groups including trade, internal VIPS and key influencers at John Dewar & Sons (Bacardi) 5 malt distilleries.
  • Host private tours and other adhoc tours across Scotland.
  • Represent the brand/ brand home, attending trade fairs and tasting events as needed.
  • Host press and filming/photography visits, overseeing and featuring within assets for the brand as directed by the Global brand team.
  • Working with the Advocacy team to ensure all activity is well planned and seamlessly executed.
  • Be the brand and category expert in Scotland, providing a legitimate voice, adding credibility through knowledge and expertise.
  • Host all visits and guests in a safe and responsible manner.

Global Advocacy implementation

  • Activate global advocacy programmes at the brand home and John Dewar & Sons other malt distilleries.
  • Work with the Global Advocacy leads, Global Brand Ambassadors and local ambassadors based in market to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to advocacy globally.
  • Develop close working relationships with the brand team to be the 'voice' of the brand ensuring every guest has a fully on brand experience.
  • Develop the delivery of advocacy programmes to create engaging and meaningful education sessions in Scotland.
  • Put in place and report on KPIs for advocacy visits to Scotland, including feedback systems, origination, benefit to the company, and compiling reports for use by the Global Brand team.
  • Contribute to a shared sense of purpose across the Global and local brand, advocacy and brand home teams.
  • Represent the brand home at Global Brand Team events as needed and in the absence of the UK Brand Homes General Manager.
  • Build a learning organisation by creating a "share, steal and reapply" culture that systematically builds a Global database of Brand Advocacy best practices.

Site responsibilities

  • Develop close relationships with the production teams within the distilleries to ensure factually accurate comms.
  • Develop and implement training programmes for the brand home tour guides. Develop various levels of consumer and trade "brand life" experiences test and learn.
  • Lead the visitor centre bar offering cocktail innovation, bar offering, training etc
  • Play an active role in events, planning and execution both commercial and community based.
  • Uphold and inspire in others, the first class visitor experience delivered at Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery. As the brand home, we must ensure that every guest receives a 5* experience, befitting the quality of the brand.
  • Understand the relationship between brand equity/advocacy and revenue balance the 'reason for being' against the commercial visitor experience to ensure no visits are compromised.
  • Act as day to day manager to the Advocacy team, supporting them and planning their time truly 'owning' responsibility for advocacy on site.
  • Responsible for the advocacy sundry budget always maximizing resources and ensuring a planned and coordinated approach.

Social media and marketing

  • Work with the UK Sales & Marketing Manager and their team to ensure that local marketing opportunities for the brand home are maximized.
  • Work with the global brand teams to ensure that all communication (internal and external) generated at the brand home is fully 'on brand' and in line with relevant BVI's/toolkits.

Community engagement and local trade

  • Represent the distillery / brand / brand home at local shows and events.
  • Act as 'spokesperson' within the local community.
  • Engage the local on and off trade to maximize local presence (brand and brand home) and develop strong relationships within the community.
