HSEQ Officer (Romanian Speaker)
Introduction:
Intermarine UK is growing. We are looking for a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Officer to support our operations in Glasgow, UK.
We are looking for an experienced HSEQ Officer who is fluent in English and Romanian.
Experience working across heavy manufacturing environments such as Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Offshore Energy or Oil and Gas would be advantageous, but applicants from the Construction, Rail, and other infrastructure sectors are encouraged to apply.
Leadership:
As a key part of Intermarine UK, you will be part of the next generation of Shipbuilders in the UK.
You support the management of a team of 300+ shipbuilders across trades including Welding, Fabrication, Pipe fitting and other shipbuilding disciplines.
You will work alongside out existing team of Operational and Project Managers, Supervisors, and the Client's Project Team. You will report directly to the Intermarine UK HSEQ Manager.Your work will support the internal audit function as well as providing on site translation support with our teams. As such, your work will be key to driving improvements and efficiencies across Intermarine UK.
Health & Safety:
You will be a key member of the team, helping to deliver Safety and Quality Critical information across our Team.
You will support us to review current approaches and documentation to ensure that we are adopting a 'best practice' approach across all our shipbuild activities.
You will spend time working with English speaking and non-English speaking tradespeople from around the world, collaborating with our existing international management team.
Quality:
You will have a sound understanding of the need for continuous improvements across all activities.
Capturing defects and improvement opportunities is central to this role, as is conducting root cause analysis and implementing subsequent process improvements.
You will champion a culture of openness and learning such that mistakes are not hidden, but rather viewed as an opportunities for improved performance.
Manufacturing Snags and other Defects will be captured via a cloud-based system which you will be trained to utilise.
Reporting:
Monthly reporting of HSEQ performance will be required.
You will work with the team to collect requisite data, so that valuable HSEQ trend analysis can be undertaken which will be used both internally and externally.
These dashboards will be used to highlight trends across the project, focusing future efforts to combat persistant issues as required.
You will support the reporting of any accidents and/or incidents to the HSE where necessary in an open and transparent manner.
You will bring a determined and diligent approach to your work, challenging established norms in a constructive way, advocating for efficiency wherever possible and highlighting improvement opportunities as they arise.
Project Team:
You will work in close collaboration with the rest of the Intermarine UK Management Team to realise your goals.
This will involve building a shared understanding with other project stakeholders of the need for high standards across HSEQ management.
You will work directly with the team of Production Supervisors (up to c.15) and the associated Blue-Collar resources (up to 300 tradespeople across a variety of shipbuilding disciplines).
Technical Software:
Other cloud-based packages will be used to record progress, capture defects, record safety critical observations and timesheet allocation. Training will be provided for these systems.

Works Location:
Your work will initially be centred around Glasgow. This is a site-based role, typically requiring 37/5 hrs per week, although occasional overtime will be required.
Weekday working, as well as weekend and nightshift activities are currently underway, so you should be prepared to float across shift patterns as required in order to meet the ongoing demands of each project.
For 'out-of town' applicants, a DLA allowance will be provided.Qualifications:
