Job Description:


AECOM has an exciting opportunity for experienced Process Safety Consultants to join our Permitting and Process Safety team at Senior, Principal, or Associate Director grade.


  • DSEAR/ATEX assessments.
  • COMAH projects including applicability calculations, Safety Report updates, SMS and MAPP preparation.
  • Environmental Risk Assessment / CDOIF assessments.
  • Preparation of Major Accident and Disasters sections for Planning / EIA assessments.
  • HAZID, HAZOP and Process Hazard Review studies.
  • Corporate Process Safety Auditing.
  • Operational site SHE support.
  • Supporting clients in developing effective process safety management systems.
  • Liaison with the HSE


There will be the expectation for occasional working at client sites or other AECOM office locations as the workload requires.


Minimum Requirements

  • A base first degree in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline.
  • Pertinent experience in an industrial or consultancy role.
  • Strong track record in Process Safety, and in particular experience in undertaking DSEAR Assessments.
  • Excellent report writing, technical reviewing and communication skills.
  • You'll be an excellent team player with a proactive and positive attitude and be confident in liaising with colleagues, industrial clients and regulators.
  • Must be able to work on UK and US projects that require security clearance (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (Nato SC)).

Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications

  • DSEAR risk assessment foundation training and verification via a third party. Verification of undertaking a formal DSEAR risk assessment course would be advantageous.
  • NEBOSH would be advantageous.
  • HAZOP study leadership, which requires external training and verification via a third party e.g. IChemE. Verification as a HAZOP study leader would be advantageous.
  • Basic project management skills, including experience of programming, and budget/ financial management.
