Job Title:
Lead Technologist - Underwater Weapons


Location:
Broadoak, Cowes or Great Baddow with 2 days on site per a week


Salary:
Up to £55,800 Depending on Skills and Experience

What you'll be doing:
  • Support the development of the Underwater Battlespace Strategy and ensuring its effective implementation
  • Work with Product teams to develop future technologies and manage progress, reporting to the management team
  • Provide leadership to innovation and research tasks, and contribute to the development of concepts and systems to grow the product portfolio and enhance our offerings
  • Ensure that Underwater Weapons technology solutions are identified and developed and these are communicated effectively to inform technology selection and future opportunity

Your skills and experiences:


  • Experienced in engagement, leadership or management in an engineering or technology related domain
  • Experience of working in New Product Development or with emerging technologies
  • Able to present technical and business information at the appropriate level to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical terms to nonengineering team members
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Further Education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline

The Underwater Weapons team:


We deliver the future technologies to underpin our Underwater Battlespace strategy, working on Torpedoes, Countermeasures, Submarine Systems and Autonomous Platforms.


We work closely with colleagues across BAE Systems and collaborate closely with industry Primes and SMEs and work with UK (UK MoD, RN, Dstl) and Global customers including the US DoD, US Navy & Norwegian Armed Forces.
