Hours of Work: 35 hours per week. Normal working hours are weekdays 8:30-15:30

with core hours being 10-3. Occasional Weekend work may be

required.

About Age Concern Bishop's Stortford
Age Concern Bishop's Stortford is housed in The New Apton Centre Bishop's Stortford.

We provide services to people over the age of 55 in Bishop's Stortford and the surrounding area including Sawbridgeworth, The Hadhams, Puckeridge and Standon.

Founded in1974 Age Concern Bishop's Stortford will soon be celebrating its half-centenary.


Working closely with other local and national organisations, for example, the NHS, Alzheimer's Society UK and Adult Social Care we are able to support people to live well and engage in a variety of different physical and mental wellbeing activities.


Job Purpose
To provide overall management of Age Concern Bishop's Stortford.

This includes managing finances, staffing, volunteers, events and activities, training and development and health and safety across all aspects of Age Concern Bishop's Stortford and The NewApton Centre.

In regards to The New Apton Centre you will manage hall hire, income strategies, programme development and continual community engagement.


Principle Accountabilities
On a day-to-day basis the principal accountabilities will be to the clients and other centre users, plus general duties.

The focus will mainly be on the administrative and office-focused roles, however you will be expected to cover the day service when neededor cover for staff through illness and holidays.

Financial Services

  • Provide general administrative and operational and financial oversight using software such as Quickbooks. This includes taking payments, paying invoices and reconciling both.
  • Liaising with accountants on payroll and annual accounts.
  • Be accountable for banking and all other financial processes.
  • Coordinate fundraising events and initiatives.
Administrative services

  • Collate all service user data and ensure it is kept up to date.
  • Book and deliver training to staff, volunteers and the general public. Ensuring all certificates are kept up to date and relevant.
  • Prepare and update policies e.g health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity.
  • Prepare reports and other information for the Board of Trustees.
  • Ensure the Health and safety of The New Apton Centre are complied with. For example Fire Safety, Food Hygiene and Infection control.
Community Services

  • Liaise with national and local organisations on initiatives that support the wellbeing of the over55 population.
  • Provide uptodate information relating to older person welfare, illnesses and dementia care.
  • Maintain working relationships with statutory bodies including the NHS, Local, district, and county councils, and Adult Social Care.
  • Ensure customer services are delivered to the highest standard.
  • Represent Age Concern Bishop's Stortford at local community events.
  • Undertake staff development and training as required for this post and fulfil equality and diversity and health and safety responsibilities as appropriate to the role.
  • Comply with Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR requirements in all working practices maintaining confidentiality, integrity, availability, accuracy, currency, and security of information as appropriate. Take personal responsibility for all personal datawithin your own working environment.
  • Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.
