Role Overview


In this role, you will support and assist the Designated Safeguarding Officer Lead (DSOL) for Eden Training Solutions, ensuring that the orgaisation meets all statutory requirements for safeguarding and welfare.

You will support learners with safeguarding and/or welfare issues, to ensure that they are successful on their programmes.

Using your communication skills, you will connect and build a rapport with a wide range of stakeholders and respond appropriately to their needs.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting learners, employers and employees to enjoy a positive and safe learning experience, maintain safeguarding and welfare support for all
  • The primary point of contact At Eden for all Safeguarding and learner welfare related concerns
  • Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Officer Lead in the absence of the DSOL
  • Making decisions in Safeguarding cases, following cases through to conclusion
  • Monitoring learner concerns, queries and responding within a timely manner
  • Supporting all stakeholders on issues relating to Safeguarding, Prevent and Welfare
  • Developing and delivering resources (including training) to all stakeholders in relation to Safeguarding, Prevent and Welfare (plus monitoring use/completion)
  • Coordinating, keeping training records across the organisation
  • Developing and forming relationships with external support agencies which may benefit learners
  • Reporting on team progress in relation to Safeguarding and Prevent to the DSOL
  • Monitoring, maintaining data to identify and action any trends in Safeguarding issues
  • Ensuring records are kept and maintained in accordance with audit requirements
  • Supporting the continued implementation, development of Safeguarding and Prevent action plans
  • Supporting the development and implementation of clear processes for the referral of learners from the Safeguarding team to appropriate external agencies, including ensuring that cases are followed up appropriately
  • Keep up to date sector knowledge regarding how Safeguarding, Prevent and Welfare is implemented across other FE/HE/apprenticeships providers
  • Supporting the promotion of pastoral care and motivation of learners to support them in their learning
  • Ensuring all case management is confidential and is managed in accordance with Eden policies and procedures
  • Liaising with parents and employers (of apprentices) as required, whilst maintaining require levels of confidentiality
  • Fully engage with all required training for the role and embed this training within your daily practice as applicable
  • Undertake additional training where necessary to deliver teaching, learning and assessment resources, along with materials for Eden Training Solutions programmes
  • Any other reasonable duties, as directed by your line manager

Qualifications

Mandatory level qualifications:

  • A
  • C GCSE English (or Equivalent)
  • Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Level
  • Level
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification

Desirable level qualifications:

  • Teacher, training qualifications (eg: PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert-Ed)

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • A working knowledge of the sector would be desirable, with full training available where necessary
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training within the last 2 years
  • Relevant demonstrable experience of working with learners to support them to be successful
  • Experience delivering pastoral learner support
  • Development and delivery of staff training resources and materials
  • Experience of working with external support agencies
  • Management of complex safeguarding and/or welfare cases
  • Maintenance of safeguarding records to required standards
  • Ability to work flexibly, if required, to accommodate the needs of a diverse range of learners
  • Ability to plan, organise and priorities own workload
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills
  • Good customer contact skills customer orientated
  • Ability to work to stric
