Description
Our client, based in East Belfast, is seeking Production Operatives for temp-perm vacancies.


Main Purpose:
Feeding and packing on high speed gluing machines, inspecting and preparing work for dispatch.


Rate of Pay:


  • Days £10 per hour
  • Nights £13 per hour

Hours of work:


Days:

Week 1, Mon to Weds 7am to 7pm

Week 2, Thu to Sat 7am to 7pm


There will be an element of nightshift when required 7pm - 7am

Main tasks of Job:


  • Identify orders for processing
  • Feeding product into machines ensuring optimum speeds are maintained
  • Packing product into outers or onto pallets and ensuring correct identification of work
  • Operating line clearance
  • Inspection of product according to customer and company standards, ensuring the status of the work is clearly identified
  • Preparing product for the machines by removing board waste from around cartons and discarding the waste appropriately
  • Completion of relevant documentation including Pallet Identification Labels
  • Disposing of waste in accordance with stipulated waste streams ensuring that any hazardous waste generated is clearly labelled and stored in suitable bund containment.
  • Reporting any hygiene or environmental incidents to Department Manger / Quality, quarantining product affected and conducting effective clean up of the surrounding area.
  • Compliance with all relevant procedures relating to Hygiene, Pharmaceutical, Quality, Chain of Custody, Environmental and any other Standards that the company may wish to introduce plus Health & Safety regulations
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment and completing associated documentation.
  • Performing other duties deemed necessary by Department Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the department.


The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated within the overall Business Objectives of the Company.


Essential Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a production environment
  • Previous working experience of performing quality checks
  • Colour differentiation skills
  • Methodical approach with the ability to work of own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime

Desirable Requirements

  • GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Previous experience within the printed packaging industry
