We're looking for a passionate Garment Technologist to join our team as we expand our product ranges.

Working with our design and technical teams, you'll be responsible for the technical development of all knitwear, jersey and soft separates product within the business.

Ensuring premium brand quality and legal standards are met at the same time as continuously driving improvements in fit and production.


Your day to day:

  • You'll be managing your own product area independently.
  • Ensuring all products are legally compliant and developed in line with RIXO testing standards.
  • Develop & maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and support supplier development.
  • Create size specs and detailed garment construction sheets for all knitwear, jersey and soft separates product following handover from the design team.
  • Manage the end to end fit process in line with the critical path. Ensure all approved fits are sealed to RIXO Golden Rules. Proactively troubleshoot issues and provide regular updates to the wider team to ensure all key dates are met & any potential issues are highlighted to Head of PDP.
  • Achieve yearly KPIs for returns rate for own product area, analysing and reacting to relevant returns data and customer feedback.
  • Continuously review RIXO blocks for own product categories, suggesting improvements and updates where necessary.
  • Oversee all garment labelling for own product categories, ensuring brand labelling standards are followed and care labels are both legally compliant and accurate to test reports.
  • Oversee the testing process for own product categories. Ensure bulk fabric test reports are received and reviewed ahead of production start dates. Working closely with suppliers and product development team to resolve issues.
  • Ensure all production size charts are accurate, following standard RIXO grading.
  • Ensure all customer information is accurate for the website and wholesale partners.
  • Carry out supplier visits, evaluating factory set up and production processes. Contribute to supplier appraisal and supplier allocation processes.
  • Support the product development team on fabric base testing and wearer trial processes.
  • Update the PDP team throughout the fit process of any changes which will impact the cost price/ delivery and advising on packaging methods to suit the garment.
  • Troubleshoot any QC issues for own product categories working closely with the warehouse and stores to check stock and feedback to suppliers.
  • Support junior team members on technical training.

About you:

  • You have proven experience in a similar role for a contemporary womenswear brand
  • You have an excellent understanding of the fit process, garment construction and production process
  • You are inspired by working at RIXO and have an understanding of the RIXO customer
  • You have strong communication skills, you are able to develop strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • A team play with a good attention to detail and a logical and proactive approach to problem solving
  • Proficient in MS office, experience of PLM systems is an advantage.
