Description
This temporary Rent and Service Charge Manager position, will involve the following responsibilities:

  • To ensure all rents are set in accordance with the tenure type or lease and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Take management responsibility for the provision of rent and service charge management
  • Calculation of the rents and service charges
  • Communicating the changes to customers
  • Dealing with business and customer queries, setting the budgets
  • Ensuring the transactions are recorded properly
  • Ensuring the service charge accounting is in line with professional accounting standards and current legislation ensuring Value for Money (VfM) for customers and maximising service charge cost recovery for the Group.
  • Provide a proactive and expert advisory service, in relation to rents and service charges, to both service owners and budget holders that adds value and has a positive impact upon the strategic outcomes of the business.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with rents and service charge legislation and that the Group operates in accordance will relevant legislation and best practice at all times.
  • Measure and analyse current systems and processes and recommend changes to enhance efficiencies which will support the delivery of corporate targets and business planning.
  • As the key representative and ambassador for rent and service charges for the business effectively manage key stakeholder relationships internally and externally.

Profile

  • Academic qualification: degree level or equivalent
  • Professional qualification: Rent and Service charge qualified
  • Proven successful rent and service charge management at managerial level
  • Extensive and up to date knowledge of Housing legislation
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload and manage team to meet challenging deadlines often in the face of competing priorities
  • Logical and calm under pressure; comfortable with using systems
  • Effective project management skills
  • Good understanding of accounting procedures and processes
  • Highly numerate, accurate and with a strong attention to detail
