Project Worker - Part Time

Brighton and Hove Foyer, Brighton

£11.49

19.5 hours per week - including shifts between Monday to Sunday 8am - 9pm

We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Brighton and Hove Foyer is a supported housing project for 16-25 year olds. All our residents will have experienced homelessness and some may be care leavers.

Issues they are dealing with include mental health, substance misuse, finding employment, education and training and learning independent living skills.


We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Supporting our clients to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives
  • Providing safe accommodation for clients with experience of homelessness
  • Regularly assessing the needs of residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Supporting residents in their day to day living i.e. with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting residents with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
  • Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the residents and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks
  • Going above and beyond to ensure an excellent service is provided to our clients

Skills and experiences:


  • Experience working with vulnerable adults, people with mental health needs or substance misuse
  • Expertise in support planning, key working, risk assessment and safeguarding
  • Previous experience working under challenging circumstances
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use IT systems confidently
