GM Cancer Alliance is expanding the Cancer Academy team.

We are looking to appoint an Digital Learning Creator with creative flair, innovation and project management skills to lead on the development of products and services for synchronous and asynchronous digital learning and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the learner management system (LMS).


The applicant will use their experience in digital learning using a variety of authoring and media technologies, underpinned by good instructional design, to create high quality digital learning and services to support the culture of lifelong learning offered by the Cancer Academy.

The Digital Learning Creator will be required to interact with key stakeholders (from all care settings and professions) to develop eLearning and other educational offers to ensure seamless integration between digital solutions on a local, regional and national scale

The post is 1.0 WTE and is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance. Secondment requests will be considered.

  • Lead on the development of assets, packages, learner management system, learner integration with website and learner tracking to ensure a smooth learner experience, from digital front door to ongoing learning, by using the most relevant authoring tools and LMS course design approaches
  • Work with digital counterparts in other organisations to ensure the GM Cancer Academy digital assets can seamless interface with other digital solutions (e.g. ePortfolios and Passports) on local, regional and national scales
  • Work closely with the Cancer Alliance Innovation leads to ensure digital solutions and educational offers are cutting edge
  • Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to support the creation of digital learning, identifying clear and realistic milestones
  • Engage with learners to shape offers and work with groups who aren't engaging to understand why and make necessary adjustment
  • In conjunction with the Senior Programme Lead for Education and Education Manager, review how education can be quantified to show meaningful impact on the cancer workforce

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading Digital Development

  • Ensure best practice and pedagogical principles are applied to all digital learning developments
  • Support the Senior Programme Lead for Education to deliver the GM Cancer Academy strategy and lead on innovative digital learning solutions
  • Lead on the development of assets, packages, learner management system, learner integration with website and learner tracking to ensure a smooth learner experience, from digital front door to ongoing learning, by using the most relevant authoring tools and LMS course design approaches
  • Work with digital counterparts in other organisations to ensure the GM Cancer Academy digital assets can seamless interface with other digital solutions (e.g. ePortfolios and Passports) on local, regional and national scales
  • Lead elements of maintaining the Academy website as the 'independent digital hub' for cancer education
  • Lead on running consultation periods for digital developments to ensure they are fit for purpose
Education, Learning and Development

  • Act as an advocate of digital learning in support of the Cancer Academy, championing best practice to ensure the effective development of the workforce
  • Work with digital teams to support workforce digitisation
  • Work closely with the Cancer Alliance Innovation leads to ensure digital solutions and educational offers are cutting edge
  • Support the full development lifecycle of digital and blended learning training programmes and their related assessment, including the design, development and delivery of resources, courses, materials, activities and skills evaluations that meet guidelines and agreed standards
  • Ensure all digital learning and online assets (LMS, Website, ePortfolio) are all compliant with accessibility guidelines
