As a Rail Technical Training Assessor Manager you will be responsible for the design and delivery for safety critical role in the Rail Engineering department.

You will also formally assess and record staff competency of safety critical roles against industry standards.

  • Provide technical systems training and assessment, including safety and development, to ensure that safety critical are proficient to carry out routine inspection, preparation, maintenance, and fault rectification to the required standards.
  • Responsible for developing key nontechnical skills for safety critical roles.
  • Supporting the Technical Competency Lead in the continuous improvement of the competence management system for Heathrow Rail Engineering.
  • Identifying and implementing tools and techniques to encourage safety critical roles to actively maintain and develop own competence.
  • Support line managers with creating and implementation of peer development plans, including training as part of returntowork programmes.
  • Liaise with Technical Competency Lead to allow for all training and assessment material to be recorded and electronically stored.
  • Continuously monitor and develop own technical and educational proficiencies. Develop and improve training and assessment solutions.
  • Engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3, including relevant experience.
  • The desire for training and passion for the development of others.
  • Working knowledge in designing, implementing, and evaluating training solutions.
  • Working experience in design and delivering competence assessments.
  • Information Technology literate, proficient use of Microsoft Office package including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. High level of competency in communicating information and knowledge effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Familiar with use of management systems for example Learning Management Service (LMS).

Working Location
Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport.

All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
