Tempest Education is currently looking for an experienced science technician for a local secondary school in the Manchester area. The role will begin in February 2023 and will continue on a full-time, ongoing basis to cover an absence.

The position will involve working as a science technician, helping and supporting the science department across physics, chemistry and biology.

Key requirements:

Supporting teachers in preparation of learning materials
Assisting in practical sessions where required
Responsible for Health and Safety checks and risk assessments; ensuring high standards and ensuring guidance is always adhered to
Maintaining all classrooms and working areas including the prep rooms
Ensure maintenance of the equipment and materials used in each area
Preparing equipment, materials, ingredients, chemicals and specimens for practical sessions and examinations, including constructing and setting up equipment as required
Cleaning equipment and classrooms after practical lessons
