Andover Mind is one of the leading mental health providers in Hampshire and we are looking for a caring, committed, empathetic, hard working team player to join us and to contribute to making a real difference as part of our amazing Basingstoke Well-being team.

As an integral and highly valued member of our team, this is an opportunity to "give something back" in a positive way by using your own knowledge and experience of living with, and recovering from, mental illness.

Peer support is a strengths-based approach which starts with what's strong, not with what's wrong, recognising the individual as a whole person rather than only focusing on the problem.

An essential element will be using your own personal experience in the appropriate way, you will help individuals manage their own illness, supporting, encouraging and inspiring them.

You will help people to focus on achievable goals using a strengths based approach whilst remaining calm and professional in any stressful or challenging situation.

This is explicitly a non-clinical role which does not involve treatment, assessment or evaluation.
