About the role
Balfour Beatty are currently recruiting for a
Trainee Inventory Coordinator
to join our Power Transmission & Distribution team in
Derby.
The role purpose:
To provide administrative and operational assistance to the Technical Support Team. Covering PPE, Fall Arrest Equipment, Plant, Vehicles and Innovation used within Power T&D.
What you'll be doing
- Updating of Fall Arrest Equipment inspection system
- Operational point of contact for Fall Arrest Equipment orders and Vehicle enquiries
- Assist with fall arrest equipment inspections at both fixed and temporary BB locations
- Efficiently update Microsoft Excel based Fall Arrest Equipment Inspection system from paperwork provided by the PPE Controller.
- Receive and arrange supply of Fall Arrest Equipment Orders from sitebased teams. Book items in/out of stock on the Oracle system while following the company stock management rules
- Assist with periodic stock checking
- When required attend meetings with suppliers and other BB staff with regards to vehicles, supply of PPE and fall arrest equipment.
- Central point of contact for general Vehicle enquiries / escalations including vehicle requests, maintenance, repair and calibrations.
- Provide support to operational teams to maintain a high level of driving compliance
- Efficiently plan activities to maximise productivity, minimising personal travel and disruption to site operations
- Assist with other reasonable duties within the department.

Essential:
- Experience of managing and planning own workload
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook
Desirable:
- Full clean driving license
- Qualified examiner of Fall Arrest Equipment
- Experience of Power T&D PPE, working methods and project safety rules
- BESC card
