Work Location - Atherton M46 9HH and Bury BL9 7NQOrchid Woodlands is situated at the woodlands drive, Atherton-Manchester. Are you an experienced maintenance person?
Maintenance person will ensure that the Orchid Woodlands is maintained to a high standard and that the buildings and grounds are clean, safe and attractive environments in which our residents and staff can live and work.
This goal will be achieved by ensuring that all equipment is working to the standards set by CQC, internal policies and legislation followed by Orchid Woodlands.
As part of a friendly team of colleagues, families, visitors and contractors, you will be able to communicate at different levels with ease and professionality.
Your role will include:
- Working closely with the Home Manager or nominated staff member to make sure that our clients live in a place that is safe and well maintained at all times
- Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
- Check fire alarm systems weekly, ensuring all information is recorded
- Check emergency lighting and water temperatures monthly, ensuring all information is recorded
- Ensure fire appliances are checked and serviced regularly
- Check all fire doors weekly and record any problems
- Carry out quarterly fire drills and ensure staff follow fire evacuation procedures and assist with updating fire evacuation procedures
- Check all electric lights daily and replace bulbs as necessary
- Make sure the Nurse Call System is in good working order at all times by carrying out regular checks and documenting this
- Check all pressure relieving mattresses monthly to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Check all beds monthly to ensure they are working correctly.
- Redecorate all rooms and corridors as required
- Basic plumbing and electrical maintenance
- Clearing and Cleaning general areas
- Assembling furniture
