We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Post 16 Therapy Assistant to join our beautiful SEN school in Kingston.
With a permanent contract on offer, you'll have the chance to work closely with our therapy team and provide invaluable assistance to students aged between 16 and 19.
As a Post 16 Therapy Assistant, you will be an essential part of their therapy team, collaborating with experienced professionals who share a common goal: to unlock the full potential of our remarkable students.
Your primary focus will be on supporting the individual needs of our post-16 learners, helping them overcome communication barriers and fostering personal growth.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with their therapy team and Post 16 department to develop and implement tailored therapy and lesson plans.
- Support children ages 16 to 1
- Support students in enhancing their communication skills and achieving their academic and personal goals.
- Assist in the delivery of different therapy sessions, including Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy, following professional guidelines and best practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to express themselves confidently and effectively.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the therapy team, Post 16 department, and other relevant stakeholders.
Ideal Therapy Assistant:
- Must have relevant experience supporting children and young people with SLCN, preferably in an educational or therapeutic setting
- Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Able to build meaningful relationships with pupils, parents, teachers, and carers
- Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Has a positive and cando attitude
