Main
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims and external resources as appropriate to evaluate business needs and explores solutions to support business objectives of AXIS Insurance.
- Manages all phases of reinsurance treaty placement process in order to support best execution of optimal terms and conditions and in accordance with company standards and business compliance protocols.
- Manage relationships with reinsurance brokers and reinsurance markets
- Support data call and appropriate disclosure in reinsurance submission and other marketing materials in coordination with Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Claims and others as appropriate.
- Review contract wording and determine drafting requirements. Work with the contract wording specialist and other internal and external resources as required to finalize draft reinsurance contract wording.
- Makes recommendations on reinsurance purchase decisions for review and approval by Global Head of Ceded Re and others.
- Partner with Ceded Re colleagues to support department objectives
- Provide appropriate summaries and communication of treaty placement terms post placement to support proper administration of placements. Act as resource to internal stakeholders and administration colleagues to resolve placement and/or contract wording questions.
- Supports and/or leads project work as assigned.
- Execute duties in compliance with AXIS business compliance protocols and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years' Reinsurance related experience
Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
ARe and/or CPCU preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required
- Reasonable knowledge of specialty lines of business and property insurance
- Knowledge of reinsurance structures and associated structural features and attributes
- Serves as a technical resource to other professionals in the filed
- Ability to review and identify drafting requirements in respect of reinsurance contract wording.
- Commits to deliverables with customers, external partners, and/or management.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and quantitative skills
- Ability and willingness to work outside normal office hours and global travel as required
