Description

Main purpose
To carry site maintenance duties, with some cleaning duties, in and around the academy as directed. To deliver a safe and clean environment for pupils, staff and visitors.


Duties and responsibilities

Maintenance

  • Perform temporary and minor repairs/maintenance
  • Commissioning pool and associated tasks/compliancy for summer use
  • Undertake general site maintenance and basic equipment repair
  • Undertake basic DIY and courier duties
  • Operate systems such as heating, cooling
  • Maintain grounds as necessary
  • Report major faults/repairs/maintenance to the line manager

Health & Safety

  • Carry out daily site checks
  • Support with implementation of health & safety procedures

Resources

  • Act as designated key holder for academy premises
  • Store all equipment and chemicals used in the appropriate manner
  • Monitor stock levels and inform manager of requirements
  • Restocking facilities e.g. soap, paper towels
  • Deal with security/safety issues, including callouts

Cleaning and Preparation

  • Oversee and undertake preparation of rooms and appropriate work areas
  • Oversee and undertake some cleaning operations
  • Undertake some cleaning duties which may include dusting, emptying bins, picking up litter, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, scrubbing, buffing, polishing, toilet cleaning in areas of the academy

Systems, Policies and Procedures

  • Work to expected standards and complete work within required timescales
  • Assists with setting standards

Team Involvement

  • Demonstrate own duties to new or less experienced staff

Sustainability

  • Support the delivery of sustainable approaches to working
  • Support the premises team with monitoring consumption data, including recording meter readings where appropriate

Building Professional Relationships

  • Establish access arrangements with contractors where necessary
  • Monitor contractors whilst on site
  • Exchanges information with head teacher and other staff

Record Keeping and Information Management

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records when required

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
£22,737.00-£23,114.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 per week
