This organisation are seeking a proactive, detail orientated & driven Systems Support Engineer to support a team of exceptional software engineers in their delivery of business critial projects for highly secure end customers.

Responsibilities


As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will shape the role to your strengths and the areas you want to develop.

Your responsibilities will include a combination of

  • Maintain internal corporate services (hosted in AWS)
  • Automate the provisioning of environments in AWS using technology that adopt (Terraform / Docker)
  • Design and develop automation workflows
  • Influence software development teams to adopt DevOps best practices
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Participate in the Agile DevOps design, development, testing and release of new capabilities and features; with a focus on release and postproduction support
  • Be a part of the Care (Support) team, working to SLAs for our operational products
  • Support the development of corporate Security Policy; ISO27001 compliance and change management, situation / disaster analysis
  • Resolve second line support issues and, where necessary, liaise with clients, internal customers, and support partners in order to resolve these issues you will be the face of the organisation and a key point of contact both internally and externally
  • Security engineering infrastructure development (e.g. hardening security environment)
  • Be a part of an occasional outofhours on call rota

Skills

Essential

  • Linux administration (preferably RHEL/Centos)
  • AWS EC2/EKS
  • Network and firewall fundamentals (In AWS)
  • Writing, maintaining and using helm charts to deploy to K8s/EKS

Desirable

  • Gitlab, Jenkins, Git or Atlassian
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an 'Always-Up, Always-Available' service.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
