    Looking for a role where your expertise can truly make an impact? We're on the hunt for 3 passionate Connections Engineers to join our Connections Business Development Team at Northern Powergrid.

    We welcome candidates with qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering and experience across different levels:

    Junior roles:
    Plant Engineer, CAD Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Cables Engineer, Protection Engineer, Project Manager (2-3 years industry experience)

    Mid/Senior roles:
    Project Managers, Power Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Connections Engineer


    This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major projects connecting large factories and power stations to our extra high voltage networks, playing a critical part in the UK's decarbonisation and Clean Power 2030 initiative.

    As a Connections Business Development Engineer, you will be a key enabler in helping our customers transition to a low-carbon economy through the deployment of flexible connection solutions that utilise new and emerging technologies and commercial arrangements.

    Along with a competitive salary of between £53,711 - £73,451 we also offer great benefits such as;

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver quotation services for EHV connections on time and within licence requirements
    Manage the EHV customer experience and relationship from first approach to final connection
    Engage with customers to develop innovative and flexible connection solutions supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy
    Ensure compliance with regulatory and charging policies
    Produce executive-level quotation approval documentation
    Interpret technical appraisal documentation and create effective contracts
    Manage commercial and legal documentation for connections contracts
    Oversee project financial governance and closure routines

    Key Competencies

    Strong written and spoken communication skills
    Ability to deliver high-quality documentation in a commercial environment
    Build and maintain exceptional customer relationships
    Sound decision-making and effective team working

    Qualifications and Attributes


    Essential:
    HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    Full UK driving licence


    Desirable:
    Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering
    Project Management qualifications
    Experience in the electricity industry (connections) regulated environment
    Legal and contract law experience
    Project/Programme management experience
