The role holder will be responsible for providing support to the Reconciliation and Debt team.

The team sits within the Student Fees unit of Academic Services and is responsible for contributing to student success by ensuring that the right student has the right funding at the right time.

The Reconciliation and Debt team is responsible for the reconciliation of Tuition Fee Loan/Grant income and for the recovery and administration of unpaid student fees.


The role


You will be responsible for ensuring that our systems and processes for administering funding are managed efficiently and effectively; administering and monitoring processes and reports and analysing data to ensure reconciliation of income due.

The role involves liaison with students directly to ensure that fees are received and internal liaison within Student Fees and wider teams within the University to ensure that required actions are taken to recover income and to ensure that student records are accurate.


There are currently two posts available:1 x FTC until March 2024, Full Time (Maternity cover)

1 x FTC until 31 July 2023, Part Time 18.5 hours per week.

_There is some flexibility as to how the 18.5 hours are worked but ideally this would be every morning (Monday - Friday).

Skills and experience
This role will suit you if you;

  • Have experience of working in a financial and debt recovery environment with a high level of accuracy and a high standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Are experienced in using Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel at an intermediate level, Word and Outlook
  • Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload often in a pressured environment
  • Are able to absorb and retain complex policies, procedures and product knowledge and translate into workable processes
  • Have experience of working in a student centric environment and dealing with complex queries and/or complaints across various communication platforms
  • Possess excellent data analysis skills and are able to extract and interpret complex and large datasets
  • Are able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Can work independently using your own initiative and work effectively within a team building strong collaborative relationships
  • Are adaptable and able to work in an agile manner
