Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Hull, East Yorkshire.

In this exciting role you will be part of our in-house technology team working within the existing IT operations support team to cover the day-to-day infrastructure and support needs of several businesseswhich are part of the William Jackson Food Group.

You will be managing a small team of infrastructure engineers.

You will have a good understanding of the Microsoft stack, and be an escalation point for the support team to aid them with resolution of issues within a timely manner.

There will be several IT projects ongoing at any given time as we look to improve services that are provided to our businesses, in turn this will require infrastructure expertise and input to many of these and you will be a key player to the success of theseprojects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven previous experience in an infrastructure-based role with excellent customer service skills and has a genuine interest in technology, as well as looking for an environment that allows for developmentand growth.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer key responsibilities

Ensuring uptime and maintenance of all IT systems and infrastructure across multiple sites and subsidiaries within the group.
Managing and lead a small team of infrastructure engineers who are based at other sites across the country.
Understanding and adhering to change management processes and IT best practises.
Taking ownership of varying different technical issues and acting on these to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Install, maintain and support hardware, both office and manufacturingbased equipment.
Working as part of the IT Operations Support Team to provide support to a diverse group of several hundred users across multiple sites within the UK, providing support in both person and remotely.
Assisting other teams within both the technology team and other departments to deploy various solutions and systems.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer skills and experience

Previous experience within a technical infrastructure role.
Previous line management or supervisory experience.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Good understanding of VMWare/Virtualised environments
Experience with cloud platforms and environments (Azure/AWS)
Good understanding of networks, both LAN and WAN.
Experience with M365 suite.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Experience working in a fast paced environment.
It would be good if you have SQL knowledge and ERP/D365 experience.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, whilst delivering to the given time frames, be able to work as part of a team, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment where you may need to react to the changing requirements quickly.

Thisrole will be primarily based at one of our sites in Hull, East Yorkshire with a heavy on-site presence required, there may also be some ad-hoc UK travel required so a full UK driving licence would be great.

We are a food business so it would be great if you have worked in this type of environment before.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be part of a paid "out of hours" support structure.
