_We firmly believe that we are better lawyers because we care more. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a part-time Legal Secretary to become an integral part of the support function in our Private Wealth Team, based in our Guildford office._

Day to Day:


You will be part of a wider team of Legal Secretaries and will provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to a select number of lawyers within the team, including a Senior Associate and a Solicitor.

Our team handles a broad range of private wealth matters on behalf of HNW and UHNW clients, and the Legal Secretary will play a vital role in the management of these matters, and the delivery of an outstanding client service.

Some of your duties will include;

  • File administration: including the opening of files (and associated AML / compliance tasks), the closure and storage of completed files.
  • Ensuring accurate and pertinent information is taken from the client during the initial instruction phase, using your private wealth knowledge.
  • Regular contact with clients to keep them up to date with the progress of their matter.
  • Assist with the billing and credit control process by liaising with lawyers and the accounts team to produce reports and invoices through the system.
  • Accurate recording of information in the practice management system.
  • Drafting of letters, documents, and forms using the case management system and/or Microsoft Word including those that have been dictated by the lawyer involved.
  • Daily diary management for yourself and the lawyers you support.
  • To manage the appointments and meetings of the lawyers you support, both internal and external.

About you

You will be an experienced Legal Secretary, or similarly qualified legal support professional, ideally with some prior experience within private wealth.

That said, we would also be very keen to hear from those with experience within another area of law who possess the key transferable skills that come with being a fantastic Legal Secretary You will have excellent analytical, time management, and people skills, with a passion for self-development and continuous learning.


This role provides significant opportunity for further development and, in time, it is anticipated that this role would lead to a "Senior Legal Secretary".
