    About the Role

    As a senior employment lawyer, you will provide expert advice and support to RELX businesses in the UK and EMEA on labour and employment law matters affecting large multinational employers. You will collaborate with various teams to help them achieve business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Combine employment law expertise with business acumen to provide high-quality legal advice and services.
    • Offer general employment law guidance on HR policies, disciplinary processes, restructurings, data subject access requests, employment litigation, contingent labor, executive recruitment/terminations, and internal investigations.
    • Conduct training sessions on employment law topics for HR and management.
    • Oversee external counsel and draft legal documents such as employment contracts, settlement agreements, RCAs, and HR policies.
    • Support key changes in employment law and provide advice on internal sensitive HR/legal projects for the UK and EMEA.

    Requirements

    • 7-8 years of experience as a UK employment lawyer in a law firm or as in-house counsel.
    • Extensive knowledge of EMEA employment-related legal systems and legislation.
    • Working knowledge of privacy law, mergers and acquisitions, and experience with employee benefits and compensation programs.
    • Excellent communication skills, including document drafting abilities.
    • Able to promote a compliance-based business culture.
    • Keen attention to detail and ability to exercise good judgment.
    • Ability to manage complex situations and conflicts independently or as part of a team.
    • Exceptional organisational, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
