Technical Project Supervisor
This unique company have set up an R&D Centre to provide support services to organisations of all sizes who are involved in engineering or technology development.
- They are creating a team of Project Managers, engineers and technologists to work within an innovation system, including government, Universities, academics of all types and businesses.
- You will help their clients fast track their way through prototyping, testing and product development which could be physical or software
- The role will allow you to get involved in groundbreaking ideas and to help bring them to life.
- You will deliver pivotal breakthroughs in the next generation of operational technology.
- As part of a team of innovative thinkers, you will design solutions that will define the next decade and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that project delivery is controlled, tracked, and governed.
- Planning and prioritisation of delivery activities to control scope, schedule, and costs.
- Resource planning with teams that include contractors, suppliers, universities, and internal stakeholders.
- Track costs against budgets.
- Supporting the management of key programme governance and activities.
- Enable the effective flow of information through the governance structure.
- Define programme operating processes for managing risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change control.
- Communicate with workstream teams to ensure that processes are followed.
- Manage of key project documentation and deliverables.
You will have experience:
- In 'Agile' Delivery methods.
- financial planning and tracking for a project or programme.
- In overseeing work by project managers and delivery teams.
- Of managing PMO processes such as risk management and status reporting.
- Of communicating to delivery teams to drive alignment on processes and standards.
- Using project/programme management tools like (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile or Managing Successful Programmes).
- Of using Microsoft Azure would be advantageous.
- Of managing PMO effectively in the context of delivery projects would be beneficial
Qualifications;
- Degree in Business, engineering, ICT/IT, Project Management etc
- Several years in project management
- Competent user of PRINCE2, Agile, MS Project etc
- Microsoft Azure DevOps ideally too
- Strong interpersonal skills and a real interest in developing ideas and helping others
