Continuing to invest in its people, they are seeking to appoint an Associate Construction Director to work with the Construction and Developments team to manage the delivery of c.

40 million of Logistics space.

The Role


Work for the Construction Directors and the wider Development team to manage the delivery of Tritax Symmetry's development portfolio capable of accommodating c.40 million sq.

ft. of logistics space

Your focus will be on the

design and delivery of the infrastructure phase of Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange totalling 650,000sqm of logistics space over 450 acres which is currently going through the DCO process.

Reporting to the Construction Directors, you will be responsible for delivering key project

infrastructure and civil-engineering works to create development platforms for the subsequent construction of logistics buildings, allowing the business to realise land and development profit.


You will manage the external professional team for the civil-engineering elements, from surveys and investigations, through concept design, engagement with external stakeholders, planning consent, detailed design, contractor procurement and construction.

You will ensure that the necessary third party consents are obtained in a timely fashion and lead the management of the external consultant team and engineering contractor, utilising company procedures and protocols.


The Person

  • Likely from an engineering background, you will have a commercial, professional and positive approach with the ability to work well as part of a team as well as being self motivated and proactive.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate at all levels with a range of stakeholders is essential, coupled with support to colleagues and a strong team ethic
  • A flexible attitude to work as well as being able to work under pressure and achieve targets, all while providing and managing a highquality client service is essential, whilst contributing to and upholding the reputation of the company
  • An entrepreneurial and ambitious person who prides themselves on attention to detail.
  • Experience of infrastructure delivery from inception through to completion
  • Knowledge of engineering design and construction practices
  • Experience in civil engineering procurement (design and build)
  • A track record of working with the key authorising authorities, such as National Highways and Network Rail, to gain consents and deliver projects
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and legal framework relating to both on
- and off-site infrastructure

  • Experience of developing and managing programmes for large, complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Detailed knowledge and proven capability of mitigating construction risk with emphasis on ground
    engineering, earthworks, highways and rail projects

  • Wideranging civil engineering contacts/relationships in your network
  • Proven report writing, presentation and excellent negotiation skills
  • Previous experience of leading and motivating teams
  • Experience and knowledge of the JCT Design and Build form of contract is useful
