Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.
We're transforming grids to enable the take up of more renewables, electrifying fleets for cleaner air, repurposing electric vehicle batteries for clean portable power and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers.
Today the company has over 435 MW of operational and under construction grid scale battery capacity and is the leading owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
With c.200 staff and entering into the US market in 2023, we're a rapidly growing company looking for exceptionally talented leaders to join us.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role will work closely with the Founders, connecting the wider global business together whilst playing a critical role in setting and implementing the organisation's growth strategy, both in the UK and internationally.
Back by strong institutional shareholders, Zenobe is well capitalised and expects to double its staff and exceed £500 million in revenues in the next three years.
Key areas of strategic responsibility include:
Global Target Operating Model- ensuring processes and systems are in place to meet key targets
Organisation Design - ensuring Zenobe deploys its' people to meet the growth ambitions

Performance management processes and Board reporting - ensuring effective feedback is gathered enabling information driven decision making

The Customer Journey - ensuring delighted customers underpin successful growth

- ensuring Zenobe continues to be a leader in the intelligent use of energy storage
Alongside these programmes, the COO will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of Zenobe's asset lifecycle activities from Procurement, construction through operation and maintenance to end of asset life.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
- Provide decisive leadership to ensure that core deliverables are achieved in a consistent and efficient way across the asset lifecycle activities from construction delivery through operation and maintenance to end of asset life e.g. project deadlines, service level targets and high standards of customer excellence.
- Develop and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance global organisational performance and processes. Set the global processes, The Zenobe Way, and put appropriate governance in place to give the Board assurance that the Zenobe Way is being followed globally e.

- Work with the Zenobe Management team as a strategic and operational thought leader to maximise current and future opportunities that enable the business to continue to be dynamic, innovative and market leading as it scales and grows.
- Work with the Board to define the values and desired culture of the organisation as part of the Zenobe Way and lead by example to ensure that the Zenobe Way values and culture are embedded.
- Accountable for companywide accreditations eg ISO 1400
- Responsible for risk management ensuring the framework is regularly reviewed, updated and agreed.
- Actively encourage constructive feedback on Zenobe's performance and structure and present data and messages in a clear easy to understand format. Use data driven feedback to continuously improve performance.
A BIT ABOUT YOU
A proven board level strategic and operational leader.
- Experience in creating a positive health and safety culture and leading the environment, social and governance (ESG) agenda internally and externally
- Experience in leading the safe and effective operation of asset lifecycle activities from construction delivery through operation and maintenance to end of asset life.
- Experience of managing teams in multiple jurisdictions across different time zones Prepared to travel long distances and be away from home for up to a few weeks at a time to ensure consistent way of working in all markets
- Extensive experience in working with growing organisations, including experience of creating buyin to an organisational design, operating model and customer journey transformation in a fastpaced and constantly evolving environment.
- Experience of working within rapid growth businesses, ideally with a mix of hard assets (eg batteries, buses etc) and soft assets (eg software).
- Experience in the green energy or engineering sector where assets operate high availability ideally in a 24/7 style operation would be highly desirable.
- An MBA is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to think strategically but also have the pragmatism to get hands on tactically
- Highly resilient with strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
- High levels of emotional intelligence.
