The Women's Health Administrator role will work as part of the Women's Health Administrative Team, who deliver a wide range of admin services within Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Bedford Hospital, for inpatient and outpatient treatment pathways.

The post holder will be a member of the Women's Health Outpatient Booking Team, and will be responsible for the administration of the outpatient pathway in line with the 18 Week Referral To Treatment (RTT) pathway for Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectivity with a wide range of clinical colleagues.

The ability to work under pressure to delivery accurate, high quality work is an essential part of the role, whilst maintaining professionalism and a high level of communication skills at all times.


The post holder must have a keen eye for detail, ensuring databases and hospital systems are accurately maintained and administration processes followed to meet the targets set by both the hospital and the government.


Excellent telephone skills are essential as you will be the main point of contact for patients to discuss appointments and outpatient procedures, as well as liaising with other members of the team and other staff within the trust.


We are looking for someone with outstanding organisational and communication skills, who works well with staff and the public, you must be able to demonstrate experience of working under pressure and to set deadlines.

To act as the point of contact for patients on behalf of the consultant and his/her team, ensuring that all queries are resolved with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.

Working to strict Trust and Government policies and Waiting list management and 18 weeks guideline.

Contact patients to arrange appointment dates in accordance with the Trust's Booking Policy.


An understanding of the 18-week RTT process and a knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy and an agreement to adhered to these policies according to National Trust Guidelines.
