About the role
We are looking for a Safety Inspector to join our service delivery team.

You are responsible for carrying out daily driven inspections of the M25 DBFO network to identify defects which pose a risk to road users to work within the Connect Plus Services Technology Services Team maintaining & improving M25 Technology assets


What you'll be doing
This is a Site-based role, so you will be expected to be on the network most of the time.


You will be undertaking Highway Safety Inspections across the M25 Network and be responsible for carrying out daily driven inspections to identify defects which pose a risk to road users.


You will be working within one of our depots and carry out weekly inspections on both the Motorway and all purpose trunk roads.


The role is responsible for deciding on what actions are then required to be taken to make safe or rectify those defects including Identification and recording of CAT1 safety defect.

The role also requires you to carry out walked safety inspections on a monthly basis.


Who we're looking for

  • Previous experience of working in a highway maintenance contract
  • Knowledge and experience of highway & Motorway defects
  • Knowledge of highway construction and repair requirements.
  • Full driving licence
  • City & Guilds Highway Inspection (preferable) or equivalent

  • Good communication skills and can get point across succinctly

  • Keeps Inspector's Daily report of assigned work activities
