  • HEAD OF OPERATIONS SUPPORT/ MAJOR INCIDENT PLANNING
The role sits within the HQ Specialist Operations department and is directly responsible to the Superintendent HQ Specialist Operations.

The role involves managing several diverse departments with a key part of the role overseeing the Major Incident capability of the Force.

The postholder will also hold the Counter Terrorism Prepare and Protect role ensuring the Force is able to respond to a range of malicious threats.

The role involves working with multi-agency partners across the Local Resilience Forum and providing tactical advice to senior police commanders on a range of civil emergencies.

The postholder will have a supervisory responsibility of both Police Officers and Police staff in areas of Specialist Operations, Major Incident Planning, Internal Resilience, Forensic Collison Investigation and ANPR.

The post is full time offering a salary of between £42, ,958 DOE.

Applicants will need to be dynamic and flexible in their approach to work given the nature of police work and the uncertainty of emergencies occurring.

Occasional periods of on-call may be required. They should also be prepared to be vetted to SC level.
