Bakkavor Bourne specialises in making prepared fruit, stir-fry and dressed salads. It employs over 1,200 people and forms part of the Bakkavor Meals sector in the UK.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Materials Controller to join our Materials function, to schedule the inbound materials, coordinate with production areas to prevent risk of shortages and maintain stock levels.


Accountabilities:


  • To maintain standards of information produced to ensure accurate materials (inbound and outbound) schedules are sustained
  • Forecast, order and schedule materials into the business in order to fulfil all sales within specified stock holding levels.
  • Proactively contribute to improvement activities
  • Participate in NPD, ensuring all new products for launch are researched with the procurement teams so that prepro's and launches are undertaken smoothly within the business.
  • To ensure the delivery of agreed KPI's across the operation banner are complied with and that the department KPIS are adhered to and maintain at all times.
  • Actively seek coaching and development to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the department and the business.

About you:


  • Great organisation skills, forward thinking and good attention to detail.
  • The ability to analyse information, summarise and report your findings
  • Be comfortable communicating externally with Customers and Suppliers
  • Ability to use initiative to propose solutions and overcome obstacles
  • Selfstarter with a drive to improve
  • Good IT skills (Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook)
  • Ability to build strong working relationships cross functionally
  • Be able to adhere to Health & Safety Requirements
