TEC Partners are working with an established life science company that provides specialist platforms and instruments to accelerate biopharmaceutical research.
The company is a spin out of the University of Cambridge and has already developed more than 20patented products that assist hundreds of researchers globally.
The company's next-generation single cell analysis instrument provides a platform to screen, identify, and analyse antibodies and other rare cells and to develop cell lines.
Additionally, the company develops a number of other research instruments, kits and consumables, and offers a wide range of customised R&D services.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing expert knowledge in the areas of polymer chemistry, surface chemistry and modification, biochemistry, fluorous chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry, and bioassay chemistry and materials
- Developing new or improved chemical products and implementing effective chemical routes for production
- Contributing to FMEA of chemical products
- Developing specifications for new products
- Leading a small team
- Managing and supporting projects
- Cooperating with other R&D teams within the company, as well as with commercial and operations departments
Requirements:
- PhD in a related field: polymer, fluorous, or biochemistry, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, or similar
- Proven track record of research or industrial experience in life science industry
- Experience in
two or more of the following areas: - Fluorous chemistry
- Polymer chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Functionalisation and bioconjugation of micro
- Supramolecular chemistry and hostguest chemistry
- Bioassay development
- Chemical vapour deposition (CVD)
- Microfluidics' interior surface modifications
Desirable:
- Microfluidics experience
- Experience communicating with external development partners
