Horsham Y Centre supports 50 Young People aged 16-25 who have experienced or been at risk of homelessness.

The Y Centre is staffed 24 hours a day, supporting clients with housing related issues such as benefits and life skills as well as putting on activities.

The support team is made up of three full-time Project workers and one part-time Project worker, Night Support workers, an onsite cleaner as well as management.


Support Project Workers hold a caseload of up to fifteen Young People and oversee the 1-1 support of those residents.

Support Project Workers can benefit from extensive training, Reflective Practise and partnership working to build up skillsets, diversify strengths and built a stake in the local community.

In this role, you will ensure the safeguarding of vulnerable residents, complete assessments and manage risk. You will cover the rota and take an active part in team meetings and tenancy reviews. In addition, you will also complete administration activities.


This role is on a seven-day rolling rota; the shifts are 8.00am - 4.00pm, 11.00am - 7.00pm, 1.00pm - 9.00pm. and will include weekends and bank holidays.


We are looking for a Support Project Worker with the strong desire to support Young People to start their adulthood in the strongest way.

You will be a team player and a great communicator with a desire to develop, learn and grow.

You will also be able to keep a record of Safeguarding for vulnerable people and have a high standard of administration and time keeping.

**YMCA DLG requires all staff and volunteers to be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to respond proactively to safeguarding concerns. Successful applicants (dependent on role) are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
